This article talks about a new loan service called faraja loan. The service has been rolled out by Safaricom and it intents to benefit Safaricom customers. Faraja loan will have a 0% interest rate and borrowers will have either a 7 day or a one month repayment period.
Faraja loan will be used to buy goods either using a paybill or buy goods and services till number from approved faraja merchant. Faraja is currently being accepted by Naivas Supermarket. Faraja allows registrasion of only two accounts under one ID.
How to apply for Faraja Loan

- Choose option 1, opt in
- Accept terms and conditions enter your mpesa pin and your new loan limit will be awarded to you.
How to use Faraja Loan
- Dial *799# choose buy goods and services or pay bill
- Enter the amount you wish to spend
- You will then receive a notification from Safaricom of a successful transaction.
