How to Update Airtel SIM card registration details

Communications Authority of Kenya recently issued a directive to subscribers with unregistered Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) cards to register their sim cards, by April lest their connections and services will be cut off from their preferred service providers.(SAFARICOM, AIRTEL AND TELCOM).

The Authority noted that, unregistered simcards are being used by criminals to spearhead illegal activities. Airtel responded positively to the Authority and it has rolled out online self sim registration update for their subscribers.

Therefore, Airtel subscribers are required to have the following particulars for online sim registration update.
✓Airtel phone number
✓ID number
✓ Front and Back side photos of the their ID

How to update Airtel SIM card details

✓ Dial *100#

✓ Choose option 1(self SIM Registration update)

✓You will receive a message prompting you to click on the link within the message as shown in this sample image.


✓ After clicking on that link, you will be directed to their website.

✓Enter your Airtel phone number , for example, as 78650••••

✓ Next, click on Validate and Get OTP
You will receive a message with six OTP numbers.

✓After entering OTP code, click on verify.

✓ You will be directed to a page where you will be required to enter your ID number and then click on upload ID photo (Both Front and Back side of your ID) then click on Submit button.

✓ You will receive a message indicating that, ” Dear Customer, Your ID image has been successful received. Complete update is subject to validation of the details”.

Then sit back and relax as you wait for notification informing you if your sim registration update was successful. In addition to updating your SIM Registration details, you will receive free 250mbs and 50 minutes Airtel to Airtel.
